Ballistic Overkill vs Killing Floor 2
Ballistic Overkill
Ballistic Overkill is a great MMOFPS game that has a fun futuristic feel to it! If you find the name familiar, well, that's mainly because the game is based on its very popular free-to-play browser-based counterpart, Ballistic (this version was unfortunately removed in the wake of Ballistic Overkill). In this game, everything previously Ballistic was completely reworked. There are more classes you can play as in addition to the plethora of game modes and maps that you can play in. These classes have their own respective skill trees that you can add points into in order to ‘upgrade’ your character class. There is also plenty of weapons available in this game, and unlike many other shooter games, with the exception of Overwatch, this game has safe rooms with multiple exits so spawn camping isn't too much of an issue. This improved game even features much better graphics - after all, the game is no longer a brwoser game - and the same goes to its music and sound effects too. However, the game is still pretty much a casual shooter (no ranked matches yet) and the matchmaking in this game still require some changes to make matches more balanced and fair for both teams. That said, if you like short, fast-paced matches and arcade-like first-person shooting or slicing (depending on the character you choose), you should definitely try Ballistic Overkill.
Killing Floor 2
Killing Floor 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the popular survival horror first-person shooter game, Killing Floor. This time around though, players will be venturing out from England into continental Europe where the failed experiment apparently has massive impact on as well. With civilization in disarray, the remnants of humanity has banded together to combat the massive hordes of zombies and set up bases across Europe. Playing as one of the remaining and well-trained mercenaries, you'll once again descend into the bowels of the outbreak and clear out hot zones for the survivors to reclaim.Similar to the original, Killing Floor 2 has a co-op (up to 6 players) option or you can simply play the single player mode. Interestingly, the game has added a new 12-player PvP mode where two teams of players take turns playing as humans and zombies. The team with the highest score will naturally win. The perk progression system is also expanded in this sequel, allowing players to invest in meaningful talents that will help them find a handful of skills that fit their respective play styles. Interestingly, the game has reworked its melee combat, giving melee fights more of a structure rather than simply slashing and smashing.
With so many improved features but still retaining the same good old zombie-killing mania, Killing Floor 2 is the sequel that the game series deserve. Enjoy hilariously crazy moments of caving zombies' heads in or blowing them right off with your friends by your side!
