DotA 2 vs Quake Live
DotA 2
DotA 2 , like League of Legends, is among the world's most popular MOBA with millions of players logging in everyday. The game features exhilaratingly strategic gameplay where teamwork is of utmost importance, as well as a myriad of well-designed maps, and a lineup of delicately balanced heroes, each with their own roles, specialities, strengths and weaknesses. Each hero can be further customized to fit the role needed and the playstyle of the player with items that can be purchased while in a match. DotA 2 is also the world's most competitive MOBA with millions of dollars iven to the winners at its main event, The International, which was held annually.Quake Live
Quake Live is an epic installment of the timeless classic, Quake. Returning for an encore, Quake Live aims to cater to the fans of the fast-paced arcade shooter genre by allowing them to play against other players from all over the world in any one of the game's 100 plus arenas and dozens of game modes. Not to mention, the game is often updated with new arenas from the company behind this revival of Quake as well as from its vibrant community.Quake was once the most competitive shooters in its day and it now aims to retain its title, at least in the arcade-like shooter genre, with this iteration... and we've got to say, it is doing a really great job. The game has already dive into the eSports scene with its own tournaments and it is doing really good. If you long for the good old days for frag or be fragged, this is a game you'll want to play - in addition to Quake Champions that is.
The unfortunate thing about this game is that it was previously free-to-play but now it's not. Considering that Quake Champions is already buy-to-play, it might be good to have a free-to-play version to help convert truly interested players from playing the free version to getting the paid version. It'll just allow the franchise to tap into a whole new pool of potential buyers and players after all.
