Far Cry 2 vs Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Far Cry 2

Far Cry 2 sets you in the role of a mercenary who somehow found himself trapped between a 2-sided conflict while being stricken with malaria. You'll need to do whatever it takes to survive and complete your primary mission. Similar to the original, the game provides players with a beautiful open world to roam and explore as well as over 70 different side-missions to complete. This time around though, players can have even more fun with fire as the game mechanics will allow you to burn forests to cut off your enemies' escape. The environment in this game is destructible as well.

Far Cry 2 also has a unique AI system that will build on the kills you've made and the reputation you've amassed among your enemies, resulting in unpredictable enemy reactions - they might simply drop their guns and run at the mere sight of you or they will immediately call for reinforcements. This freshens up the game significantly, giving you a different experience with every encounter. For players who want to play this game with friends, you can do so too, but be warned! Your friends can betray you as fast as they can decide to side with you, so you must always keep an eye on them, lest you get jumped.

This game is a brilliant sequel to the first Far Cry and surprisingly made quite a leap in terms of the realism of its gameplay. Some even dubbed this game as being the best Far Cry game ever, but well, you can give the game a try and we'll let you be the judge.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is an amazing action-based RPG which we frankly think was one of those RPG gems that were somehow overlooked. Even with its age in mind, the game still does well to cater to fans of RPGs today, giving them a memorable storyline based on a universe created by none other than the legend in fantasy novels, R.A. Salvatore; a host of interesting characters to interact with, and a massive open world to explore. Character customization is pretty extensive here, allowing you to change your character's class, skills and abilities to fit your play style. You can change your character's equipment as well.

The amazing part about this game, aside from its immersive storyline and world, is how seemlessly it has managed to integrate magic-wielding with swordplay (it doesn't exactly have to be swords though) in its exhilarting action combat. It does make you feel like you are in the shoes of your character.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning may not be a "Skyrim"-sort of game, but it's incredibly in-depth, able to offer you hundreds of hours of play time at the very least, especially if you are determined to complete every side quest and explore every corner of the beautiful world. It's definitely worth every cent you spent on it!
