The Greedy Cave 2: Time Gate

The Greedy Cave 2: Time Gate is the highly-anticipated sequel to the roguelike dungeon crawler niche hit of the same name. The gameplay is pretty much similar to the latter - it can get rather grindy after a while. This also means turn-based combat supplemented by skills, gear that can be upgraded, and loot that you can only bring out of the dungeon if it has a grade that's gold or above.

What's different about this game though is the fact that you can team up with other players and head into the dungeon together in real time! The game is also a lot more social since it has a guild feature which allows players-slash-adventurers to find reliable buddies to raid dungeons with. Although there isn't exactly a story per se in the original game, this time around, the game showcases a short yet well-described introduction which explains the presence of a so-called time gate which appeared in town one day.

The social features in The Greedy Cave 2: Time Gate is definitely a step in the right direction for the game franchise. However, the game is still in development and hence, many (other) aspects of the game aren't as nice as they should be right now. With feedback from the players and changes to the game, hopefully, this sequel will turn out to be as great as the original! They Are Billions is a hardcore, steampunk-themed empire-building/ real-time strategy game that is set in a dark and gloomy post-apocalyptic world (Not Earth). The game plays out like an actual RTS whereby you need to not only develop your castle into a sprawling empire, but also manage your empire's resources and defenses, and making sure that none of the billions of zombies out there are able to infiltrate your defenses... or things can easily escalate from having a single zombie to deal with to an entire horde.

This indie game made waves in the gaming industry mainly because of its unique zombie system. As you all "The Walking Dead" fans should know, whenever a zombie attacks and kills a human, the plague that's around will reanimate the fallen corpse and turn it into a new zombie. This system is implemented in this game, making even a single zombie that had made it past your defenses a very costly mistake. That's not taking into account the periodic zombie invasions which usually consist of a massive swarm of zombies, some of which are tougher to kill than most, that sub-par defenses won't be able to handle.

They Are Billions is definitely not the sort of strategy game to play if you simply don't have the time or the patience to figure out the best strategy to protect your population from the many infected out there. However, if you're the sort who is always up for a challenge, you might find this game a rare delicious treat! Steampunk Tower Defense Zombies Hardcore Post-Apocalyptic Empire Building
