Before We Leave vs Shooting Sky
Before We Leave
Before We Leave is a strategic city-builder that sees the descendants of the survivors emerge from safety to reclaim the world, like their predecessors, after years of huddling in underground bunkers no thanks to a galactic disaster. In this game, you’ll need to manage your colony of Peeps by making sure their needs are being met and producing enough resources for them to explore the planet and exploit the resources present.Besides exploring and keeping your Peeps happy, the gameplay also consists of optimizing production lines, unlocking new technologies and upgrades, and trying to offset challenges that will buffet your production systems, sometimes reducing productivity to almost zero. Eventually, as you progress, you can even colonize other planets!
All in all, Before You Leave is simply a brilliant and strategic village builder that is a whole lot deeper than it looks. You can spend hours building and rebuilding your villages just so you can hit that sweet spot of being completely optimized, and then to do it all over again once you’ve unlocked something new.
Shooting Sky
Shooting Sky is possibly the first of its kind - a completely-3D, space arcade shooter! The game doesn't really feature any storyline per se, but you'll get to pilot a rather cool spacecraft and shoot pretty lasers at things, be it space monsters, asteroids or anything that floats in your way, really. Naturally, you'll also be able to upgrade your spacecraft to enhance its monster-killing potential.Due to its 3D looks, it might be a bit harder to get used to at first, but once you get over all of that, you'll truly appreciate how different the game feels. Boss battles just feel a whole lot more intense and the bullet-storm you unleash feels just so satisfying. Not to mention, the game allows competitive play as well, so get ready to challenge your friends to beat your highest score.
Previously known as Astro Blitz Wings, Shooting Sky dares to innovate a classic genre and I'd say that its leap of faith paid off pretty well. The game is as fun as its trailer made it out to be, and it is able to give you a whole new perspective on the space arcade shooter genre. It doesn't get any better than that!
