Cube World is a voxel-based sandbox MMORPG that follows the same realm of thinking as Trove did. The game features an open world filled with plenty of new locations and hidden areas for you to discover wiht strategically-placed portals to hlep you get to different lands at a much more rapid pace. There are even dungeons you can conquer and dungeon bosses that you can defeat to get that sweet, sweet loot. For gear upgrades, you'll need platinum coins which can be earned by doing daily missions. As you venture across the world, you'll also get to use and hone your adventure skills, including but not limited to climbing, sailing, hand-gliding and more.Cube World has so much potential to be Trove's main rival but unfortunately, the game has apparently faded out once again to obscurity due to lack of updates. However, if you are interested to give the game a try, you can still play the game with the small group of loyal fans who are still sticking around in the game.
MapleStory 2
MapleStory 2 is the highly-anticipated sequel to the popular 2D side-scrolling MMORPG/virtual world game, MapleStory. However, this game is almost unrecognisable as "MapleStory" due to the massive changes (some positive, some.... well, not so much) done to the game. For starters, the game is fully in 3D now and it adopted a voxel-based style which is similar to Portal Knights and Trove. The game is also more customizable than ever, allowing players to not only build their own homes in the game; they can also design outfits and gear for their characters. Of course, you will still be able to change your character's looks, such as changing ther hairstyle and color, as well.Despite all the outer and some internal changes, the game's core remained unchanged - it is still a social virtual world-like MMO game where players can just relax by taking a dip in their outdoor pool if they tire of adventures and monster slaying. They can even drop by a friend's place and just to hang out.
MapleStory 2 is definitely not simply a "copy-paste" version of the original. Instead, the developers have given the game and the franchise new life by adapting the game to the tastes of the current generation of gamers. It is still not available worldwide despite being touted as "globally released", but most countries should be able to access it by now. If your country is covered, you might want to give the game a try!
