Darksiders II vs SMITE
Darksiders II
Darksiders II follows in the footsteps of the original game in many ways, particularly the in-depth character progression system and an extensive skill tree, but this time around, you'll be playing as Death, the most formidable of all the four legendary Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Set off across a massive open world in order to redeem your brother's name, you'll stumble upon an ancient grudge that may decimate all of creation. Unlike War, Death is a lot more agile, allowing you to perform some impressive acrobatic acts which may unlock previously unaccessible paths.Despite the improved replayability, Darksiders II is simply that sort of game that you'll probably not return to often but is great enough to leave a distinct feeling and memory with you for life. And well, you get to play as Death himself... what's not awesome about that?
SMITE
SMITE is a competitive and rather popular (ranked around 3rd worldwide), mythological MOBA game that stands out from all the other MOBA games as players in this game battle it out in a unique third person view. In fact, despite being fundamentally the same tower-pushing gameplay, the entire gaming experience is very different as well mainly due to its controls, the group sharing of experience points and gold, as well as the way you do combat. Instead of the common incessant clicking, players will get to play their characters through the usual RPG controls in a somewhat action-based combat. The game also retains most of the old MOBA elements such as having an in-match item shop, a wide array of gods to play as along with unlockable skins depending on your god's rank, and a three-laned map. But it does change things up by making the game a bit friendlier to newcomers by having a recommendation system for puchasing in-match items.
SMITE may not be very unique in this day and age especially considering the large number of MOBA games, but back when it was released, the game was quite revolutionary. Even if you prefer the old-school MOBA gameplay, we'd recommend trying this game just to experience the MOBA genre in a whole new way.
