Dead by Daylight vs S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat
Dead by Daylight
Dead by Daylight is a rather interesting multiplayer game because it uses a 4-vs-1 where the 1 player plays as the Killer in the first-person view while the other 4 players take on the role of the Survivors who will have more situational awareness by playing in third person view. Each Killer/ Survivor will have their own progression system, allowing players to customize their character to their play styles and since each level is procedurally generated, predictability isn't exactly a word in this game's dictionary. The best part about the gameplay though is that the Survivors can actually choose to try to escape from the Killing Grounds together or in their own separate ways. It doesn't force you to cooperate with other Survivors and well, frankly, the axiom that goes "there is strength in numbers" may not ring true in this game... after all, by needing to locate only one of you, the Killer would have found and slayed all the Survivors in a single go.
Aside from the brilliant gameplay, Dead by Daylight also has the perfectly creepy atmosphere to match its somewhat gory theme. This is definitely not a game for the weak-hearted! However, the game has had a major technical fault which apparently wiped the progress of many players. Not to mention, playing in this game can be frustrating at times especially whenever either the survivors or the killer bring in overpowered add-ons which will tilt the game heavily in one side's favor. In fact, you can easily know who will win within the first few minutes of the game.
So, as amazing as the game concept is, Dead By Daylight still needs to do a ton of improvement, especially fix all of their game bugs, for it to be a game worth buying. That said, if you're interested to give it a try, you can wait for its Free-to_play weekends or you can buy it during a massive discount.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat is the third and final installment of the pretty successful survival-horror first-person shooter franchise, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Assume the role of Agent Alexander Degtyarev, a undercover modern-day treasure hunter, a "stalker", as you once again venture into the vicinity of the highly-contiminated zone of the ill-fated Chernobyl nuclear explosion in 1986 in hopes of finding out what happened to the five military helicopters that went missing around the area. The game is as brilliantly creepy as ever with the addition of new yet equally gruesome monsters as well as a world environment that's built based on real-life photos captured in the exclusion zone. The survival aspect of the game has also been revamped with the addition of a sleep function, a new A-life system and emissions that can influence the game environment. There is even a free play mode after you've completed all the main quests, as well as a slew of side quests that you can pick up and do. Interestingly, the game has a Battle Royale-like multiplayer component that can support up to 32 players, has four different game modes along with multiple maps.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat has been hailed as the best S.T.A.L.K.E.R game yet, and obivously, it is for good reasons. If you think you'll enjoy playing this, you might be interested to get the S.T.A.L.K.E.R bundle which includes all 3 games.
