Dear Esther vs Wuppo
Dear Esther
Dear Esther is one of the few rare games that managed to evoke strong powerful emotions simply with beautiful visuals, euphonious instrumentals, and an immersive and narrated story filled with love, loss, guilt and redemption. Previously a cult mod, the game sends you on a journey of exploration and self-reflection as you explore a remote and uninhabited island in the outskirts of Hebrides where apparently a mysterious Esther has summoned you here. The best part about all of this though is that the game is, unlike most heavily story-driven games, very replayable. Every play-through will give you a new experience as the audio, visuals and even the events that happen are all randomly generated. So, if you enjoy story rich games, Dear Esther is a game that will unequivocally captivate you.
Wuppo
Wuppo is an incredibly-cute and charming, 2D platformer with fun puzzles, unique art, tons of collectibles, and interesting boss fights. In this game, you'll need to help Wuppo the Wum return to the Wumhouse in which it was evicted from, but of course, the task isn't as easy as it sounds! Even if you’re not a particularly huge fan of such games, Wuppo will still be able to make you fall in love with its adorable charm. It’s really that good! From the few hours I’ve spent playing Wuppo, I can attest that it absolutely deserves its Overwhelming Positive rating on Steam. The game isn’t just an adorable game; it also comes with some pretty tricky jumping puzzles/ obstacle courses; interesting boss fights and a ton of story that will make you not only fall heads-over-heels with Wuppo itself but also with the world Wuppo lives in. Definitely a game worth its asking price!
