Dragon's Prophet vs Might & Magic IX
Dragon's Prophet
Dragon's Prophet is a free to play fantasy MMO that transports you to Auratia, a realm where dragons fill the sky, land and sea! In this game, you’ll be able to capture, train and fight alongside your very own dragons! Your dragons can also be used as mounts and as assistants to help you gather crafting materials. There are over 300 unique types of dragons that you can catch and each of them has different stats and special abilities. The combat system in this game is fast-paced and action-based, and the dragons play an integral role in it in addition to your skill mastery. There are even player housing (only if you're rich in-game), plenty of PvP and PvE options, questing, character classes, gathering and crafting, and many more.In many ways, Dragon's Prophet is very like a playable MMORPG version of the movie How to Train Your Dragon where its humor is all replaced with the cool animations and actions of what you think an actual dragon rider would be like. Not to mention, if you enjoy playing MMOs that have a pet/mount collecting aspect, you'll definitely love Dragon's Prophet.
Might & Magic IX
Might & Magic IX once more takes you on an intriguing adventure, set in a standalone part of the world of Ashan. Here you are a part of shipwrecked raiders and you are set upon a strange path. The Beldonian warlord Tamur Leng is attempting an invasion, and it falls to you to stop him and save this land from the evil intentions of the warlord. Thus begins an adventure that will take you to the very limit. Though in a break from tradition there are very few references or returning characters from the other games in the series. With a different set of options, this has a unique rules set too, once more making it much more standalone than you would think. You get to choose the strengths, races and classes of the characters and from there you can continue to improve them, with many of the tactical elements you know, but with a less polished finish this game, while fun is one of the weaker of the series.
