Far Cry 1 vs Thief 3: Deadly Shadows
Far Cry 1
Far Cry 1 is the first game of a pretty popular open world action-adventure game. Assuming the role of Jack Carver, a freelance mariner, you find yourself being hunted by the militia on a beautiful tropical paradise of an island. However, things aren't as they seem and soon after, you will have to decide to take out the militia group and its leader yourself or condemn the world to the maniac's nefarious plans. The gameplay - or should we say gunplay - in Far Cry is simply incredible. Being the hero of the game, you'll have access to a ton of tactical tools, such as motion-sensing binoculars, that will come in handy when taking on larger groups of enemies. You can even engage the enemy stealthily or simply ram down the front gate with an armored vehicle and start mowing your enemies down... how you choose to approach your target is entirely up to you! Of course, let's not forget about the large variety of weapons and vehicles that you can use. The cunning AI system that will also force you to constantly up your game as the enemies find weaknesses in your strategy and exploit it in the next encounter.
Not to mention, the game has impressive graphics for a game of its time and the game environment feels so realistic, especially with the gorgeous setting and the amazing shadow and weather effects. If you love open world shooters, you'll enjoy Far Cry... this we can assure you!
Thief 3: Deadly Shadows
Thief 3: Deadly Shadows is the third installment of the popular, stealth-based action-adventure game, Thief, where you play as Garrett, the master thief that is rarely seen and never caught. With a large arsenal of thieves' tools to use, clever AI that will act on their suspicions and track evidence as well as fun, non-linear ways to approach an objective, the gameplay itself is incredible, as you might expect. And of course, you'll need to use whatever means necessary to sneak around, steal for the rich to line your own pockets and do other thief stuff. However, fate apparently has other plans for you and for Garrett...That being said, the Steam version of the game seem to be riddled with plenty of game-breaking bugs, making the game hardly playable even to the most ardent of fans. So, if you can get a CD copy of the game, then by all means... after all, it's a great game. But if Steam's the only choice for you, then you might want to just save up and buy something else instead.
