Homefront vs Tom Clancy's The Division
Homefront
Homefront lets you join the Resistance that's fighting against the bitter, ruthless and overwhelming armies of the Greater Korea Republic for the freedom of an occupied USA using guerrilla tactics. Experience an explosive first-person shooter gameplay as well as immersive vehicular combat in addition to experiencing the compelling story of the devastating cost of war penned by renowned author John Milius through interactive cut scenes. The graphics in the Homefront is also very well-done, presenting a bleak-looking landscape of abandoned and ruined structures, shopping malls-turned-detention centers, and walled towns filled with zombie-like people who just shamble around while the invaders stood guard with their rifles at the ready. Interestingly, Homefront even provides players with a large-scaled multiplayer mode where armies of different sides clash in an epic combat, though there aren't enough players around to get a match going. So, although the multiplayer aspect of the game is literally dead, the gameplay might be a tad bit too linear (invisible walls and the like) and that there are some glitches and bugs, Homefront still has an amazing campaign that will see you fighting for the independence of the USA against its Greater Korea Republic oppressors. It is worth the purchase, especially if you can get it at a discount.
Tom Clancy's The Division
Tom Clancy's The Division is an excitingly new franchise developed from the Tom Clancy name. Unlike the Ghost Recon series, this game features you as a special operative that has been deployed to a devastated New York City after a pandemic swept across the city and many others during Black Friday. As expected of any post-apocalyptic event, the less civic-minded people have emerged, such as the Rikers and the Cleaners, and they intend to take control of New York by instilling terror on any survivors they met (or sometimes actively sniff out). It is these poor survivors you'll be standing up for and protecting as you carry out your mission to hopefully clear out the enemies and bring some form of security back into the city.Featuring a tactical cover-based gameplay that Ghost Recon is famous for, The Division provides a game environment where the time of day or the weather can be used to your advantage when planning an assault. There is also the Dark Zone in the middle of Manhattan where you can work cooperatively with a team of players to scavenge for valuable loot left behind by the evacuated military or turn bandit and attack other players to steal their hard-earned loot. It's completely your choice! Being part of a triple-A franchise, the game is also expectedly excellent in terms of graphics and effects.
Tom Clancy's The Division is the MMO that many fans have been clamoring for. With tons of customization options, most of which are cosmetic in nature, for your character and a wide variety of weaponry, there are plenty of content to keep you engaged in this game, making its cost very much worth it especially if you'll be playing the game with friends.
