Quake Live vs Zula
Quake Live
Quake Live is an epic installment of the timeless classic, Quake. Returning for an encore, Quake Live aims to cater to the fans of the fast-paced arcade shooter genre by allowing them to play against other players from all over the world in any one of the game's 100 plus arenas and dozens of game modes. Not to mention, the game is often updated with new arenas from the company behind this revival of Quake as well as from its vibrant community.Quake was once the most competitive shooters in its day and it now aims to retain its title, at least in the arcade-like shooter genre, with this iteration... and we've got to say, it is doing a really great job. The game has already dive into the eSports scene with its own tournaments and it is doing really good. If you long for the good old days for frag or be fragged, this is a game you'll want to play - in addition to Quake Champions that is.
The unfortunate thing about this game is that it was previously free-to-play but now it's not. Considering that Quake Champions is already buy-to-play, it might be good to have a free-to-play version to help convert truly interested players from playing the free version to getting the paid version. It'll just allow the franchise to tap into a whole new pool of potential buyers and players after all.
Zula
Zula is a Europe-only, free-to-play MMOFPS game that will see you joining either the group of militarized vigilantes (the Zulas) or the paramilitary force that has its fingers in almost every military organization around the world. Featuring a military-style gameplay that many Counter Strike players, especially the older versions of the game, can relate to and may even enjoy immensely. The game offers tons of game modes for you to enjoy, most of which are team-based, though there are solo modes like the Free-for-all mode. If you're good enough to compete in ranked matches, there are tournaments for you to sign up as well. In fact, Zula is apparently pretty huge in the eSports industry, but of course, if you are to compare it with CS:GO then, it'd be an unfair comparison. With so many weapons and skins along with characters who are based off on popular TV heroes, it is no wonder Zula has had so much success and for so long in Europe. We are not sure when... or even if the game is going to be opened up to the global gamer population but in the meanwhile, you can check out our games like Zula below. If you're from Europe though, then be sure to give this game a try!
