Solitaire Tales Live vs Splendor
Solitaire Tales Live
Solitaire Tales Live is the highly anticipated sequel to one of the most popular solitaire games on Facebook, Solitaire Tales. Developed by Qublix, this game one-ups the original game by being a whole lot more competitive. You will be able to compete with other players by collecting as many Golden Cards as you can - a gameplay that'll definitely feel similar to fans of Solitaire Tales. Scores for both you and your opponent will be prominently shown so you'll know how well you are doing in comparison. There are also special boosters like the Joker, Undo and more that you can buy to gain an advantage over your opponent. Winning matches will unlock new castles, and hence, new backgrounds as well.Players can also participate in a tournament with 8 other players for a chance at winning a ton of prizes... that is as long as you can come up on top after defeating all the players you are matched up against. But of course, players who just want to play some solitaire can enjoy a more casual match with an AI opponent too.
Solitaire Tales Live is designed with competition in mind and in that regard, the game has been incredibly successful. It's a great alternative game for players who love Solitaire Tales but fancy testing their skills against another human player.
Splendor
Splendor is the official digital adaptation of the popular cards-and-chips game of the same name. In this game, you'll work on increasing your prestige by trading gems and developing your town. With time and enough development cards, you may even attract the attention of powerful nobles to gain even more prestige! The gameplay can be a bit harder to get into especially if you have not played the game before, but once you do, you'll realize that the game is actually quite simple to play. Of course, "simple to play" doesn't mean "simple to win" though! You will still need to play a ton of matches before you can develop your own unique strategies which you then use to one-up your opponents. There are also single-player challenges for you to hone your Splendor skills!
This digital adaptation of Splendor stayed true to its original cards-and-chips game, but I find it falls a bit short of its full potential, mainly because it doesn't make full use of what the digital world can offer.
