Angry Birds Match adds a different twist to the usual slingshot-based gameplay that the Angry Birds franchise is incredibly renowned for. In this brand-new spin-off, Rovio delivers a whole new match-3 adventure where you'll not only need to organize the Hatchlings' party but also to protect it from the mischievous pigs. Mix and match up tons of cakes and party decor to solve the many and varied puzzle levels available. You can also bring out the big boys a.k.a. the Angry Birds like Red, Chuck, and Bomb with a match-4, and use explosive Boosters to clear the toughest levels. The best part of this game though, aside from the fact that you can play this game completely offline, is definitely the crazy-cute Hatchlings that you can collect. You can even visit them and put on the new outfits you've unlocked!Angry Birds Match may have done a complete 360 on the iconic gameplay that had made the franchise famous, but this isn't exactly their first attempt at doing so - There's an Angry Birds-themed racing game called Angry Birds Go! after all. That being said, this new game does help Rovio experiment with various other game genres just to see which new field they can expand the franchise into... and apparently, the casual match-3 genre is a pretty good bet.

Bejeweled Blitz is one of the very first popular match-3 game before all the hoohah with Candy Crush Saga began. Back then, Bejeweled Blitz dominated Facebook's games market and almost everyone was playing it. After all, why not? The game is intense and challenging since you are only given a limited amount of time to match as many 3s as you can and as rapidly as possible just so you can rack up some sweet combos. The game also utilizes Facebook's social feature by pitting your highest score with your fellow Facebook friends, further motivating you to up your game in hopes of overtaking the others in front of you on the leaderboard.In some way, Bejeweled Blitz set the motion for other match-3 games... and eventually Candy Crush Saga... to set up shop on Facebook, providing hours after hours of fun for its competitive players to find creative ways to up their game. Of course, being based on the popular Bejeweled franchise helps a lot as well. So, if you're looking for a time-limited and fast-paced match-3 gameplay, Bejeweled Blitz is a game you should play.
