Angry Birds Match adds a different twist to the usual slingshot-based gameplay that the Angry Birds franchise is incredibly renowned for. In this brand-new spin-off, Rovio delivers a whole new match-3 adventure where you'll not only need to organize the Hatchlings' party but also to protect it from the mischievous pigs. Mix and match up tons of cakes and party decor to solve the many and varied puzzle levels available. You can also bring out the big boys a.k.a. the Angry Birds like Red, Chuck, and Bomb with a match-4, and use explosive Boosters to clear the toughest levels. The best part of this game though, aside from the fact that you can play this game completely offline, is definitely the crazy-cute Hatchlings that you can collect. You can even visit them and put on the new outfits you've unlocked!Angry Birds Match may have done a complete 360 on the iconic gameplay that had made the franchise famous, but this isn't exactly their first attempt at doing so - There's an Angry Birds-themed racing game called Angry Birds Go! after all. That being said, this new game does help Rovio experiment with various other game genres just to see which new field they can expand the franchise into... and apparently, the casual match-3 genre is a pretty good bet.
Candy Crush Soda Saga
Candy Crush Soda Saga is the sequel to the insanely-popular Candy Crush Saga. Featuring a similar gameplay (It is a match-3 puzzle game after all) and boosters but with improved graphics, the game now has a new element added that will swamp your candies with its fluidity - the magical and oddly purple-colored, fizzy soda! There are also new level goals, game modes and blockers added just to match this new game element and to bump up the challenge. It's actually quite surprising how many changes can a single new feature do! That said, if match-3 puzzle games are your jam, you'll definitely want to try Candy Crush Soda Saga.Platforms
