Black & White vs SimCity 4
Black & White
Black & White is a god-mode simulation game (a.k.a. God game) where players are casted into the role of an almighty god who is able to control the fate of an entire world and yet is dependant on the prayers of your subjects in order to increase your power. You can opt to be a merciless or a benevolent god but regardless of your choices, challenges will eventually arise and you will need to do what it takes to keep worships coming in.Unlike most sandbox games where you can control every single thing built, you can't really force your people to do as you as directly, but you could encourage them indirectly... and this is exactly what makes Black & White such a hit back in the day - a game concept that no one has ever experienced before. Unfortunately, it seems like this game won't be brought back soon and unless you managed to get a old hard copy of the game (and of course, make it work on your much more advanced PC), you may never get to play this game.
SimCity 4
SimCity 4 is the fourth installment in the SimCity game franchise and it has been touted as the best SimCity game ever. Instead of building your city in one go, you can now build your city part by part and weave them all together into a bustling metropolis. You now have god-like powers as well, allowing you to craft and mold the landscape as you like, or call down huge disasters to terrify your poor Sims. Like the previous games, being their mayor, you'll need to be responsive to your Sims' needs as well, be it a new stadium or more universities. There are multiple scenarios and regions for you to build a city in, so there's plenty of replayability right there.SimCity 4 is a really well-designed game for an excellent game franchise, and if you love complicated and massive city-builders, this old game still stands well today.
