CastleStorm is a 2D tower defense game with a very unique twist. It features a combination of sandbox-like castle-building feature - a feature that some may liken to Hustle Castle - with a challengingly strategic gameplay, where you not only have to defend your own castle from being destroyed and your flag captured; you will also need to deploy troops - there are plenty to choose from - to attack your opponent's castle by first battering down the gates, and capturing the flag.Unlike many other similar games, you can also deploy your hero into the battlefield to grant your troops some morale support. You can personally control your hero and he will have a range of skills that you can use as well. Interestingly, when not in "hero mode", you can use the many siege weapons available to hurl heavy objects at the enemy's troops or castle à la Angry Birds-style.
The game focuses mainly on single-player in the past but it recently han unveiled a PvP multiplayer game mode where players build up their castle and let other players take a shot at it.
CastleStorm is an incredibly addictive game to play, especially if you're a huge fan of tower defense-like games; and not only that, the game has plenty of hilarious characters and dialogues which will at the very least make you chuckle from time to time. It's a game worth buying (for PC, Xbox and PS4. The game is free-to-play on mobile platforms) and you can even play it on any major platform you prefer!
Ikariam
Ikariam is an online empire-building MMO strategy game that partly resembles games like The Settlers Online and Sparta: War of Empires, and yet manages to offer something else that's entirely unique. In this game, you play the role of a leader of a Greek polis (city) and it is your sacred duty to develop your polis' infrasructure and economy, build up an army to defend said polis and attack other poleis, as well as to bring about new technological discoveries that will aid the growth of your empire.Ikariam may feel like every other browser-based MMO strategy game, but once you get into the game, you'll quickly realize how much more depth this game has and how exciting it is to play the game. It's definitely not easy to succeed in Ikariam - only the best leaders and strategists will manage to get to the top... Are you among these few?
