Despot's Game vs FATE
Despot's Game
Despot's Game is a whimsical roguelike with an auto-battler-style combat and a pretty strategic gameplay. In this game, you’ve found yourself in the middle of a battle-to-the-death contest organized by a maniacal talking computer screen. Luckily, you won’t be partaking in the battles yourself. Instead, you “recruit” puny humans and equip them with various weapons so they could survive enemy encounters and descend deeper to the next level where tougher enemies reside. There are boss fights, numerous strategic ways to upgrade your “unwilling gladiators” and to produce more food to feed your army, and funny encounters with the denizens of the arena dungeon you’re in.FATE
FATE is kind of like the spiritual successor of the successful dungeon crawling franchise, Torchlight. Return to the glorious days of action RPGs by diving into the game's procedurally-generated dungeons, slaying monsters, stuffing loot into your backpacks, and developing your character from a scrawny adventurer into a battle-hardened one. You can also have fun with the game's trading system or you can simply try your luck with the NPC shopkeepers in the town of Grove. Like Torchlight, you can even adopt a pet - a dog or a cat - and evolve it into stronger creatures.FATE is the very first of an incredible series that doesn't only allow you to relive classic action RPGs, but also bring back feelings of nostalgia so strong that you might just cave in to your emotions. So, if you love dungeon crawlers, you'll want to grab this game for your Steam library.
