Fortnite vs Oxygen Not Included
Fortnite
Fortnite is a unique tower-defense-like co-op game where players will be given a limited amount of time to make a coordinated effort to gather resources like metal, brick, wood and nuts and bolts, from their surroundings, build a base to defend from, and set up traps to protect said base. Oh and don't forget to upgrade the base whenever's possible and make sure to reinforce your passive defenses before the next wave of enemies arrives!Set in a world where most of humanity was somehow turned by a freak and mystical storm into mindless creatures called Husks, this game will have you fight for the last of humanity while playing as the world's last remaining heroes. You'll get to choose from one of four classes, namely the Outlander, Soldier, Constructor, and Ninja, each of which has their own unique roles to play in the team.
Fortnite may have lost some of its shine in the limelight due to the immense success of its battle royale add-on game mode, Fortnite Battle Royale, but this doesn't at all diminish the exciting multiplayer gameplay it has to offer. This is definitely a game to watch... and to play once it's officially released - hopefully as a free-to-play.
If you would like to jump into the game a bit earlier than the masses, you can purchase the early access bundle which will not only get you access to the game, but also some nice little, and exclusive, extras.
Oxygen Not Included
Oxygen Not Included is one of the most highly anticipated new survival/base building game by Klei Entertainment, the very people behind the breakout indie title, Don't Starve. Set in a space-colony where oxygen itself is a limited commodity, Oxygen Not Included will put your management and planning skills to the test as you try your best to not only help your current colonist survive the next day but also to grow your colony into a bustling underground space colony. The game has a very in-depth base building system that may bring to mind a 2D version of SimCity. It also features realistic psychological effects (specifically, stress) of surviving, which may eventually lead to a breakdown, and naturally, you wouldn't want that. Aside from oxygen and the mental states of your people, you will also need to keep a variety of other factors well-regulated lest your colonists die from a necessity you've neglected. Best yet, like Don't Starve, each world you play in is procedurally generated, guaranteeing hours after hours of replayable fun!
In some way, Oxygen Not Included feels like a much more in-depth version of Fallout Shelter albeit with a different theme and Don't Starve's iconic art style. So, if you love Klei's games so far, you might want to check out Oxygen Not Included. However, bear in mind that the game is still a work in progress and if you have any suggestions, you can always send them some feedback.
