Halo Wars vs Star Wars Battlefront
Halo Wars
Halo Wars is the MMORTS spin-off that was inspired by the popular sci0fi shooter franchise, Halo. However, unlike a shooter, this time around you can choose to side with either the Covenant or the UNSC as they raise armies and battle each other on the battlefield. The game feels a lot like any other great MMORTS games, like Starcraft, but although the game supports keyboard controls, you might still want to plug in a controller because... well Halo is an XBox-exclusive series and as you might expect, its spin-offs are pretty much the same thing. The best part though is its multiplayer aspect. You can choose to play cooperatively with friends against a super strong AI in the campaign or you can go online and engage in intense, action-packed warfare with other players from all over the world through the versus game mode. However, a quick note though, waiting for its random matchmaking to find an opponent will take quite some time. So, if possible, go and meet your fellow players and add a couple of them as friends. At least when you want to play a game, you won't have to wait too long for one.
Star Wars Battlefront
Star Wars Battlefront is perhaps one of the best Star Wars games to date. In this game, you can truly immerse yourself in one of Star Wars iconic battles complete with stormtroopers, walkers, and lightsaber-wielding Jedis on the ground, as well as X-wings and TIE fighters in the skies. You can choose to play on either the Rebels' or the Imperial side in the conflict, fighting for either the light or the dark side. Each multiplayer match can house up to 40 players, making each battle as hectic and lively as the real thing in the movies! There are many different planets you can do battle on and naturally, the different biomes and terrain of each planet pose a different challenge even to the most hardcore of players. If multiplayer is not for you, you can even go co-op instead and dive into the many exciting challenges alongside your buddies, or simply play solo.Best yet, if you happen to own a Playstation copy of the game and also a Playstation VR, you can enjoy some bonus virtual reality content where you get to engage in dog-fights and blast at enemies from your very own space fighter.
Star Wars Battlefront is definitely designed with the idea of bringing the grand battles and suave action you often see on the big screen to a platform that allows you to not only interact with the many characters in it but also to really engage and role-play your favorite characters. Couple that with original Star Wars soundtrack and the massive effort put into making sure that every meticulous detail is accurate, this is a game that will give any Star Wars fan a huge rush!
