Set in Empire Bay during World War II, the game also has plenty of atmospheric nuances that will basically teleport you back into the past - to the golden era of the mafia and mobsters. Not to mention, the game has some of the most intense gunplay, car chases and hand-to-hand combat that complement the whole mafia drama that Mafia II has going on. Yakuza 0 is a gang-themed action-adventure RPG that draws plenty of comparison to game series like GTA or Mafia. The game is set in the 1988 in the largest cities in Japan, Tokyo and Osaka, where you’ll be playing as Kazuma Kiryu is your run-of-the-mill debt collector who messed up, resulting in the death of his mark. Obviously, you’ll soon find yourself on the run and you’ll need all your wits and fighting skills with you if you are to survive the thugs and lowlifes that are hot on your trail.The atmosphere in Yakuza 0 is simply unmistakably the 80s, with neon-lights everywhere and the sound of cabaret ringing out throughout the streets.
