This time around though, the Mushroom Kingdom has a lot more gold coins for Mario to collect - and he needs to collect as many as he can - in addition to simply completing a level. There are also special power-ups that can turn everything in Mario's path in coins. Aside from the usual 2-player multiplayer mode, the game now has a new Coin Rush mode where players will rush through 3 levels while collecting as many coins as they can and then challenge their friends to do the same.
