Old School Runescape vs Ragnarok Online 2
Old School Runescape
Old School Runescape is the very first old-school version of Runescape, one of the largest and earliest 2.5D free-to-play MMORPG. For sentimental or nostalgic's sake, players can once again dive into the wonderful and expansive world of Gielinor. For players who have played Runescape back when it was "cool" before, they might already know about the funny quests that they get to enjoy, the extensive character customization and progression system, the robust and frankly thriving auction/trading system, the old-school crafting, fun group dungeons and the crazy ton of events and other content to keep you engaged for months on end. Oh and of course, the lose everything you are carrying if you die and couldn't make it back to your corpse in time before other players stumble on it and loot it.The hardcore players of Runescape had to pressure Jagex to bring back the Old School Runescape once the game franchise has evolved so much to cater to the younger generation of players and in some way, we are glad they did. This game is a testament to how far Runescape as a franchise has come and not to mention, it's truly one of the best classic MMORPGs of all time.
Ragnarok Online 2
Ragnarok Online 2 is a 3D anime-themed MMORPG that is the incredibly well-received sequel to the popular game of the millenium, Ragnarok Online, which was released 10 years after the launch of the original game. In actuality, many players would argue that Ragnarok Online 2 is not a sequel but rather a revamped version of the original game since the game is essentially the same except with massive overhauls in terms of its gameplay mainly to accomodate the new 3D graphics but also to incorporate popular new game mechanics. There are also changes done to the game's previous card system that now allows players to equip the cards to their character rather than attaching them to the gear they use.Ragnarok Online 2 may not be drastically different from its predecessor when it comes to its contents, but the shiny new 3D look does breathe new life into the Ragnarok franchise, attracting a new generation of players who likely grew up only knowing and playing 3D games. In some ways, this game is a great alternative to Ragnarok Online if you can't stand the 2D look.
