Overwatch vs PWND
Overwatch
Overwatch is one of the anticipated release back in 2016 and it has broken all expectations when the game earned a place among the top 10 most popular competitive MMO shooters out there within the very month it was launched. Aside from breaking records and winning awards, Overwatch is both diverse and simple - diverse in the sense that the game provides players with a wide array of unique characters, each having their own play styles and team roles; and simple in the context that the game is incredibly easy to pick up and play. Of course, being a buy-to-play game, Blizzard also took the wise route and made all characters available from the start. Only skins/ loot boxes will cost you credits (game currency) to buy. As an exclusively multiplayer game, Overwatch offers its players with a nice selection of PvP modes including weekly Brawls and ranked matches as well.Blizzard has scrapped many attempts at creating an entirely new game franchise from scratch, and evidently, Overwatch has not only made it through all the rigorous quality checks; it has become an instant success. Granted that the excellent marketing played an important part in all the fame that Overwatch now enjoys, the game itself still has to be really good to stay successful, don't you think? All in all, Overwatch is definitely worth every penny you spend in it.
PWND
PWND is a team-based, competitive MMOFPS with an arcade-styled gameplay which will remind you of Quake Champions, Unreal Tournament and other similar games. The game features a lineup of uniquely different characters that you can play as, each with their own sets of skills and stats.Considering that this game can have quite the high skill ceiling, it's great that you can get a feel for the game via its Practice Mode where you battle against bots. Once you're ready, you can dive into some epic shootouts in the 3-vs-3 Quick Play mode. The game also offers a single-player 20-level gauntlet, which again is remisniscent of Unreal Tournament.
Taunting your opponents (and getting taunted in return) is part and parcel of PWND so this game isn't exactly the sort that "snowflakes" play. Instead, you should take those taunts in stride and better your game just so you can have fun getting sweet revenge! Needless to say, the game does provide quite a number of funny and outrageous taunts that you can play around with.
All in all, PWND is a really amazing free-to-play title that fans of Quake and Unreal Tournament would enjoy. It has a pretty fair microtransaction system, and if it can get a healthy player base to keep going, you may get to enjoy more maps, game modes, and characters in the future as well.
