Terraria vs Transformice
Terraria
Terraria is one of the biggest breakout indie game of 2011 and, like Minecraft, is still incredibly popular until today. However, despite the many similarities between Terraria and Minecraft which is mainly because they are both sandbox games, Terraria is a definitely much more fleshed out version of Minecraft without all the 3D voxels but with 2D pixels instead. The great thing about Terraria though is that it has more of everything that Minecraft has - more recipes, more enemies, more pets, more bosses... well, like we said, more everything. The depth in Terraria is simply astounding!Combat also feels action-packed in spite of being 2D and interestingly, the game provides an immersive storyline that you can follow... again, unlike in Minecraft where you literally have to create your own story if you want all of that. The game is cross-platform game and supports multiplayer as well.
In short though, we'd say that Terraria is more suited to adventure-based RPG gameplay rather than Minecraft but unfortunately, not everyone likes its 2D looks. So, if you're a fan of Minecraft and you don't really mind 2D games, you should definitely check out Terraria. You'll be blown away by the overwhelming size of the content!
Transformice
Transformice is a hilariously entertaining MMO platformer where you along with dozens of other mice will be jumping and running all over the place to be the first to bring back the cheese. Featuring a plethora of levels, realistic physics and an overall frantic gameplay, the game also appoints a random player as the almighty Shaman mouse who can decide to be the good samaritan and help the other little mice to get to the cheese or play the villain and make life a living hell for them. Besides having plenty of customization options, each player's mouse will have its own skill tree to upgrade.Interestingly, Transformice is a rather player-driven game. The game allows players to create their own game modes and maps in addition to the 7 official game modes and 200 official maps. This little yet significant feature helps to further extend the game's lifespan, giving players a chance to not only play games but also create games for other players to enjoy.
Being a somewhat competitive game, Transformice has a rarely ethical F2P business model where every item in the game is obtainable without spending any real money and if you do spend real money, the items you get are simply cosmetic in nature. Spenders and non-spenders will actually be on equal footing in this game, how awesome is that?
So, if you have a penchant for ridiculously funny platformers, Transformice is a game you won't want to miss out. Do give it a try!
