Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist vs Tom Clancy's The Division
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist is the latest game under the Splinter Cell franchise and it is possibly the best one yet. As opposed to the more disappointing Conviction, Blacklist manages to combine the best of both the original and Conviction titles and added in all the features that players have complained the sequel lacked, including actual stealth-based gameplay where you can avoid an enemy instead of forcing you to engage him, as well as performing non-lethal takedowns. As usual, you'll have access to an arsenal of impressive gadgets which does make your job a whole lot easier, but this time around, certain unique enemies are able to counter your devices, forcing you to come up with new alternative plans rather than simply sticking to the "distract-and-take out" routine. This is very unlike Conviction where the gadgets had made the game too easy.
The storyline is also pretty good since the protagonist, Sam Fisher, now has free reign to do what it takes to take down a group of terrorists called The Engineers and their ultimate terror attack plan to launch escalating attacks on US interests around the world, codenamed Blacklist. Your mission? Flush out their leader and take him down.
Aside fromt he campaing, the game has cooperative missions that you can play with friends online as well. However, the servers have long since been taken down and thus, you either have to play those coop missions alone - it's possible, thankfully - or you can try LAN.
Tom Clancy's The Division
Tom Clancy's The Division is an excitingly new franchise developed from the Tom Clancy name. Unlike the Ghost Recon series, this game features you as a special operative that has been deployed to a devastated New York City after a pandemic swept across the city and many others during Black Friday. As expected of any post-apocalyptic event, the less civic-minded people have emerged, such as the Rikers and the Cleaners, and they intend to take control of New York by instilling terror on any survivors they met (or sometimes actively sniff out). It is these poor survivors you'll be standing up for and protecting as you carry out your mission to hopefully clear out the enemies and bring some form of security back into the city.Featuring a tactical cover-based gameplay that Ghost Recon is famous for, The Division provides a game environment where the time of day or the weather can be used to your advantage when planning an assault. There is also the Dark Zone in the middle of Manhattan where you can work cooperatively with a team of players to scavenge for valuable loot left behind by the evacuated military or turn bandit and attack other players to steal their hard-earned loot. It's completely your choice! Being part of a triple-A franchise, the game is also expectedly excellent in terms of graphics and effects.
Tom Clancy's The Division is the MMO that many fans have been clamoring for. With tons of customization options, most of which are cosmetic in nature, for your character and a wide variety of weaponry, there are plenty of content to keep you engaged in this game, making its cost very much worth it especially if you'll be playing the game with friends.
