Amnesia: The Dark Descent vs Kingdom of the Dead
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a first-person survival horror game that is guaranteed to chill you to your bones. Play as the amnesiac, Daniel, who finds himself in a creepy castle with a haunting cry constantly ringing out in the background... the thing is the cry is getting ever closer and even you don't know that it is, you have no intention of meeting the creature behind the sound. Like the living nightmare that Daniel - and by extent you - is unfortunately experiencing, the game completely immerses you into a world where unseen horrors lurk in the darkness and only by hanging to your wits will you survive the encounter. It's not a "cheap thrills"-type of game, that's for sure! There is no contest when it comes to the creepiest game ever made - Amnesia: The Dark Descent wins hands-down. In some way, it's a great game to test your resolve in but be warned, there is no shame in walking away from this game if the going gets too horrifying for you. You won't be the only one to do so!
Kingdom of the Dead
Kingdom of the Dead is an action-packed, first-person shooter inspired by the timeless and iconic game, Doom, that puts you in the shoes of Agent Chamberlain, a professor-turned-Army General of a secret government program known only as “Gatekeeper”. Your goal? To foil Death’s evil plans to take over the world by closing all the Gates of Death and defeating all his minions, both big and small. Now, Kingdom of the Dead may be inspired by Doom but it offers a different kind of experience. This doesn’t mean that the game’s bad – in fact, the game’s pretty fun to play as long as you aren’t trying to compare it with other renowned faster-paced shooters and enjoy the game as it is. Price-wise, the game’s a pretty good deal for the amount of content it offers.
However, there are some issues that the game really needs to work out, such as the weapons balancing issue and players or enemies getting stuck to objects or the environment that the developers should really patch up as soon as they can.
