Angry Birds Match adds a different twist to the usual slingshot-based gameplay that the Angry Birds franchise is incredibly renowned for. In this brand-new spin-off, Rovio delivers a whole new match-3 adventure where you'll not only need to organize the Hatchlings' party but also to protect it from the mischievous pigs. Mix and match up tons of cakes and party decor to solve the many and varied puzzle levels available. You can also bring out the big boys a.k.a. the Angry Birds like Red, Chuck, and Bomb with a match-4, and use explosive Boosters to clear the toughest levels. The best part of this game though, aside from the fact that you can play this game completely offline, is definitely the crazy-cute Hatchlings that you can collect. You can even visit them and put on the new outfits you've unlocked!

Angry Birds Match may have done a complete 360 on the iconic gameplay that had made the franchise famous, but this isn't exactly their first attempt at doing so - There's an Angry Birds-themed racing game called Angry Birds Go! after all. That being said, this new game does help Rovio experiment with various other game genres just to see which new field they can expand the franchise into... and apparently, the casual match-3 genre is a pretty good bet. Block Star Party is a pretty unique match-3 puzzle game that doesn’t only allow you to match 3 or more tokens up; it also gives you a fixed objective for every level – you’ll need to remove all the blocks in the level by matching tokens right next to them, all the while keeping in mind how many moves you have left. In some way, the game’s unique concept has trapped Block Star Party in a corner since every level will literally have the same objective that is to clear the blocks, but it’s nice to note that the game has really overdone itself by creatively coming up with a variety of special blocks that injects a significant amount of difficulty into its levels. There is also a nice variety of special tokens and boosters that you’ll need to learn to use. You can even customize your blobling and dress it up in adorable outfits.

So, if you like a bit of change in your usual dose of match-3 fun, Block Star Party is the sort of game that will surprise you, especially in the later levels. Be sure to check it out! Match-3
