Apex Legends vs Unreal Tournament

Games Like Apex Legends

Apex Legends

Apex Legends is a first-person battle royale consisting of 20 teams of three. You’ll drop into the battlefield with two other players, loot weapons and items from the environment, and fight. You’ll have access to a variety of heroes, each with different skills and capabilities that cater to different playstyles.

The gameplay is extremely fast-paced, comparable to Call of Duty’s multiplayer matches. Firefights are exciting affairs, especially since you’re mixing gunplay with special abilities. There’s also a tactical aspect since you might want to choose a character that blends well with those of your teammates.

So, to sum it all up, there are games that come out every once in a while and have the ability to change an entire genre or even the industry and Apex Legends is one of those games. It’s a refreshing entry to the concentrated battle royale genre, dominated by names like Fortnite and PUBG. Though it does not offer anything revolutionary, it touts solid and polished gameplay that is a mix of highly-regarded titles like Titanfall and Overwatch.

Unreal Tournament

Unreal Tournament by Epic Games is not the 1999, old-school version by the way - it is a brand-new, work-in-progress version that can support up to 4k resolution. This newer version of Unreal Tournament also added several new dodge styles to the frantic jumping and sprinting gameplay that all Unreal games are famous for. However, despite its brilliant new graphics and gameplay tweaks, the game retains the core of what made Unreal Tournament incredibly popular back in the day - all its intense fragging, maze-like maps, power-ups and most importantly, a community of friendly yet competitive players to play the game with.

Although Unreal Tournament has been under development for quite some time now (since 2014), it's interesting to note that Epic Games lets players enjoy the game as it is being developed and they really take fans' feedback and suggestions into consideration. So, despite technically being an unfinished game, Unreal Tournament is already operational... meaning you can now play it... and best yet, it's free-to-play.

So, if you longed for a modernized and improved version of Unreal Tournament, this is the game to play.
