Battlefield 2 is one of the Battlefield classics and rightly so. The game lets you play as a soldier in one of the three major military superpowers: the United States, the Chinese or the newly-formed Middle East Coalition. Players will have access to a wide range of weaponry to do battle with as well as a variety of vehicles. Similar to the original game, the game has a large-scale multiplayer mode - the hallmark of any game from the main Battlefield series - that can accomodate up to 64 players on a single map.

With more weapons and vehicles for you to play with, Battlefield 2 is a pretty nice sequel to the Battlefield franchise. However, considering that it has not yet been reworked, unlike the first Battlefield, and that currently, there is no way you can purchase the game unless you get the hard copy off eBay or a similar site, you might be better off buying any of the other Battlefield games. Battlefield 3 is the sequel where EA games truly opt to focus on enhancing its multiplayer gameplay rather than trying to go the route of Counter Strike or Call of Duty. Here, you have complete and total freedom to fight the way you like. There are nine massive multiplayer maps of varying terrains for you to battle in, a wide variety of vehicles, weapons and gadgets to improve you combat capability, as well as a ton of unlockables.

The most interesting part of this installment though is that there are now four unique player classes, namely Assault, Engineer, Support and Recon. Each of these classes have their own roles to play in the team and only by working together will the team be able to achieve victory.

Due to the classes, Battlefield 3 may feel a bit restricted to some players, but in a way, it's good because at least players will know which role they need to play as opposed to trying to do everything at once.
