BioShock 2 vs Novus Inceptio
BioShock 2
BioShock 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the popular BioShock game where you are thrown yet again back to the watery depths of Rapture but this time in the boots of the most iconic character of the BioShock franchise, the Big Daddy. The game also one-ups the previous game by introducing a more challenging opponent, Big Sisters, and another well-crafted and highly-acclaimed storyline that is as equally tragic as the last. In terms of gameplay, the game now allows players to dual wield a combination of plasmids, weapons or both. This time around the game also has a multiplayer option with unique multiplayer scenarios for players to experience and enjoy, including the opportunity to be involved in Rapture's civil war which had turned it into the creepy city that it is in the first game.
BioShock 2 retained most of what made the franchise so popular in the first place and yet added plenty more new features to change up the gameplay and appease its loyal and hardcore fans. This is a game that is highly recommended only after you've experienced the first BioShock game... seriously, don't jump the sequence!
Novus Inceptio
Novus Inceptio has all the hallmarks of a great sandbox game in the making, despite still being in early access. Aside from its mysterious sci-fi theme, the game features a variety of fun anomalies (mini-worlds) where you can discover, explore and possibly piece together story snippets about the stuff that had happened in the past. The game also has a more complex and in-depth crafting system, auto-harvesting feature, and a potentially fun underwater exploration/harvesting aspect that will definitely elevate the overall gameplay quality. However, the developers definitely need to make sure the game’s fundamental features, such as its action-based combat system. In addition to being an indie game, Novus Inceptio is also a work-in-progress. However, from what can be seen and experienced, it already has most of the winning features it needs to “make it” in the sandbox genre. It has a very interesting anomaly game concept that allows players to discover and explore multiple mini-worlds. It also offers an in-depth crafting system and farming, though its building and combat aspects are still pretty rudimentary. If you enjoy playing survival/sandbox games, Novus Inceptio is a breathtaking game that you wouldn’t want to miss!
