Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel vs Star Wars Battlefront
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is supposed to be the Borderlands game that occurs in between Borderlands 1 and 2 as it details Handsome Jack's rise to power and wealth. The game features a pretty similar frantic gameplay to Borderlands 2 with a few major changes - Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is set in space and on a planet with low gravity and limited oxygen supply. These factors do bump up the difficult of the game by a notch and it is incredibly fun to enjoy the virtually-designed low gravity effect in first person.Like Borderlands 2, this game brings along with it a brand new cast of anti-heroes, each with their own set of special abilities. Interestingly, you get to play the annoyingly amusing (or is it "amusingly annoying"?) little robot - Claptrap - in this pre-sequel too! Of course, being space, you'll get a new line of vehicles to wreak havoc in.
If you're here for the story, then you'll won't find Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel disappointing, but when it comes to its gameplay, it does feel a bit lackluster at times. All in all though, the game bridges the story perfectly and is pretty much a must-buy for fans of the series, but if you're new to the series, it might be best to start with either Borderlands 1 or 2.
Star Wars Battlefront
Star Wars Battlefront is perhaps one of the best Star Wars games to date. In this game, you can truly immerse yourself in one of Star Wars iconic battles complete with stormtroopers, walkers, and lightsaber-wielding Jedis on the ground, as well as X-wings and TIE fighters in the skies. You can choose to play on either the Rebels' or the Imperial side in the conflict, fighting for either the light or the dark side. Each multiplayer match can house up to 40 players, making each battle as hectic and lively as the real thing in the movies! There are many different planets you can do battle on and naturally, the different biomes and terrain of each planet pose a different challenge even to the most hardcore of players. If multiplayer is not for you, you can even go co-op instead and dive into the many exciting challenges alongside your buddies, or simply play solo.Best yet, if you happen to own a Playstation copy of the game and also a Playstation VR, you can enjoy some bonus virtual reality content where you get to engage in dog-fights and blast at enemies from your very own space fighter.
Star Wars Battlefront is definitely designed with the idea of bringing the grand battles and suave action you often see on the big screen to a platform that allows you to not only interact with the many characters in it but also to really engage and role-play your favorite characters. Couple that with original Star Wars soundtrack and the massive effort put into making sure that every meticulous detail is accurate, this is a game that will give any Star Wars fan a huge rush!
