Dauntless

Dauntless is a co-op action RPG that has been hailed by many as an exclusively MMO version of Monster Hunter: World albeit with less "realistic" (subject to debate, I'm sure) graphics. In this game, you will play as a Slayer, one of the last fearless warriors who are all that stand between savage behemoths that have gorged on the powers of aether - the very power that had shattered the isles - and the surviving people of Ramsgate.

In many ways, the storyline may remind you of Pacific Rim, minus all the cool tech and mechs. Instead of piloting massive machines of war, you do battle with aether-charged attacks and well-timed combos while working cooperatively with other players. There are many types of monsters for you to slay in Dauntless and different types will require different strategies. In fact, the strategy you use depends on how you build your character and what's your team composition is. This is definitely not your usual "tank and spank" boss fights.

If you love actually-challenging boss fights in MMOs and generally, cooperatively hunting down creatures of monstrous sizes, then Dauntless is definitely a game you'll want to check out.

Fossil Hunters

Fossil Hunters is a cute anime-like action-adventure game where you play as an archeologist who has been selected to join an elite team of your peers. However, you arrived on the excavation site only to find that everyone else has gone ahead without you and that they have gotten themselves stuck down there somehow. Now, you will have to descend through the many levels of excavation floors in order to save them.

Each floor is sectioned off by a mysterious force field which prevents you from immediately descending to the lowest level. Instead, you will need to solve what seems to be a "fossil jigsaw puzzle" by sloting in fossil fragments that you find by clearing away dirt. The game ramps up the difficulty soon after by introducing landslides and weird little creatures whose favorite food is apparently the fossils you excavated. These creatures are afraid of lights though, and as such, you can purchase and place excavation lamps around the work site to deter any creatures from gobbling up the fossiles you've fixed into place... or you can just hit them to scare them away... you know, whichever works best for you!

Fossil Hunters is also a co-op game as well, allowing up to 4 players to play together. If this sounds just like the sort of casual adventure game you enjoy, make sure to check out the game on Steam!
