Digimon Masters Online vs Sword Art Online
Digimon Masters Online
Digimon Masters Online is an MMORPG that's inspired from the hugely popular (well, at least back in the 90s) Pokemon-like, digital monster-collecting franchise, Digimon. Here, you get to play as a up-and-coming Digimon trainer (if you're starting to see similarities between Pokemon and this game, you're not wrong!) where you will set off on an adventure of your own across a beautiful virtual world teeming with a wide variety of digital monsters for you to capture and collect. These monsters can also grow alongside their trainers and eventually evolve into better, and usually much cooler-looking, versions of themselves. All of these exciting features are unfortunately wrapped around a pretty standard MMORPG gameplay though, which does make the game seem like a ton of wasted potential. That being said, Digimon Masters Online is an MMORPG that players will really love especially if they like games with a "pet" (the word is used subjectively)-collection aspect. It's no Pokemon Go, admittedly, but it's really close to experiencing what it is to be a Digimon trainer.
Sword Art Online
Sword Art Online , published by Instant Funs - the very people behind the successful idle-like MMO game, Pokemon Mega, is a free-to-play, anime-themed, idle-like MMORPG that puts you in the shoes of a participant in the virtual yet ruthless world of Aincrad where you have to level up and improve in order to survive. Although the game doesn't really put much focus on its storyline - it's pretty much non-existent, its gameplay can still be quite entertaining to play.As you may expect from an idle-like game, you don't really get to play your character, whether you chose the swordsman, the archer or the mage. In spite of its automatic combat, however, the game has tons of other stuff for you to do including upgrading your weapon and armor, honing your skills, and smelting items you don’t need. There are plenty of PvE dungeons, including instances where you can farm for upgrade materials or monster hunts where you can get legendary gear, as well as PvP arena and cross-server tournaments to boot!
So, regardless of whether you know what its namesake is all about, you might still want to give Sword Art Online a try especially if you enjoy idle-like MMOs. The game will just suck you right in!
