Far Cry 4 vs Left4Dead

Games Like Far Cry 4

Far Cry 4

Far Cry 4 casts you into the role of Ajay Ghale, a person who travelled to the remote mountainous region of Kyrat to fulfill his mother's dying wish only to find himself trapped in a civil war between the rebels and the dictator that ruled the region with an iron fist, Pagan Min. Featuring the same epic open world and the freedom to literally do whatever you like, Far Cry 4 has a whole lot more deadly beings aside from humans with guns; the place is teeming with a wide variety of dangerous wildlife that will put your hunting skills to the test. The game also provides you with a whole new set of weapons and vehicles, including the ability to ride an elephant into battle. Far Cry 4 even has a co-op aspect where you can grab a friend to explore the beautiful region and kill Pagan's people along with you.

However, the game only has an automatic save (and no checkpoint saves) that severely limits the supposedly sandbox aspect of the game and well, the game has unskippable cutscenes, which frankly can get rather annoying in your second playthrough. Despite its downsides though, Far Cry 4 feels a lot more realistic than most open world games mainly because of the abundant of wildlife that is supposed to be present in a remote region like Kyrat. If you've enjoyed most of the Far Cry games so far, you'll definitely love this one.

Left4Dead

Left4Dead is among one of the very first popular zombie-themed shooters that has evolved from being simply a single player experience into a multiplayer game that almost every 90s gamer have played in LAN sessions or at cyber cafes... or have at least heard of it. Developed by Valve, the game features a wide variety of zombies, each with their own special abilities; relatable characters and an urgency to reach the next safe house due to the waves after waves of zombies that make you feel like you are actually trying to fight for your own life! There are plenty of interesting locations and unique scenarios for you to enjoy, allowing players to break the monotony of fending off endless hordes of zombies.

Once you're done with the campaign, there is even a multiplayer aspect which will allow you to play with your friends against another team of your friends as either the human survivors or as the ravenous zombies. Admittedly, the multiplayer mode is the perfect addition to the game as it drastically expanded the game's lifespan.

All in all, Left4Dead is the first of a hugely popular series of games that many are still clamoring for a sequel until today. The graphics and gameplay may feel rather outdated in this day and age but if you have a soft spot for "old but gold" games, this is one of the more modern classics that you should really try.
