Gwent vs Magic: The Gathering Arena
Gwent
Gwent is a completely-unique MMOCCG that is based off on a mini-game in the award-winning RPG, The Witcher 3. Featuring a poker-like bluffing aspect, the game has a simple yet innovative gameplay where players will try to one-up the other by having the highest score for that round. The player who won 2 rounds out of 3 will be crowned the winner. To win, having a great deck and a good bluffing strategy is crucial. Not to mention, similar to its RPG counterpart, this MMOCCG has a seriously in-depth and brand-new lore that will embroil you in the war between various factions, forcing you to pick a side. Gwent is an MMOCCG full of promise and one that is very much worth playing.Magic: The Gathering Arena
Magic: The Gathering Arena is a spin-off. free-to-playgame from one of the most popular trading card game worldwide, Magic: The Gathering. In many ways, it's very similar to Magic: The Gathering Online since they are both basically the same games with the same rules. However, when it comes to attractiveness, MTG Arena definitely wins hands-down.Aside from having superior graphics, it has plenty of exciting animations, screen shaking, and sound effects to keep you engaged as you play. The gameplay may be standard but all of these extras do make a noticeable difference. In fact, with all the bells and whistles, the game is certainly well-packaged to be ported to the mobile platform.
However, since the game's still in beta, there is plenty of stuff that fans of the paper game might not be able to enjoy just yet. The cards, for instance, aren't all there yet, and so are the game modes. For a trading card game, the trading feature isn't implemented in the game as well.
That being said, Magic: The Gathering Arena is perhaps one of the best digital MTG games out there, beating out MTG Online and Magic Duels by a mile. The free-to-play game may not be flawless but at least it is not a grind to play, has a fun gameplay, and has plenty of room to expand and grow. If you're a fan of Magic: The Gathering, you'll want to give this game a try.
